An Evening with Mark Ormrod

On Friday 22nd March 2024 St George’s Hall combined forces with local charity, Ark at Egwood to co-host an evening with Mark Ormrod. Mark is a Royal Marine Veteran, Triple amputee and gold medallist. On Christmas eve 2007, while serving in Afghanistan with the Royal Marines, Mark was blown up by an improvised explosive device resulting in the traumatic amputation of both legs and his right arm. At the time, Mark was pronounced dead, twice. His incredible story of survival and intensive rehabilitation was truly captivating, not only to the many ex-service people in attendance, but the countless villagers and local people who came to support the event. A truly inspirational evening.
